The Tomato Chlorosis Virus (ToCV) is a pathogen of the Crinivirus genus that is widely distributed worldwide and significantly affects tomato crops. The virus is characterized by having a bipartite genome of positive-sense single-stranded RNA. ToCV is transmitted by various whiteflies such as T. vaporariorum, B. tabaci biotypes A and B, and T. abutilonea, causing symptoms of interveinal chlorosis and leaf yellowing. Besides tomato, the natural host range includes pepper, Datura stramonium, Physalis wrightii, Solanum nigrum, and Z. elegans. Given its rapid spread and the associated economic impact, early and accurate diagnosis of ToCV is crucial.
The PhytoDETECT® ToCV RT-qPCR Kit enables the detection of ToCV through a real-time quantitative RT-PCR reaction. The kit includes a master mix containing the necessary enzymes, optimized primers and probes, as well as a DNA-based positive amplification control (PAC) to ensure that the PCR amplification is performed efficiently with the supplied components.
