The Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV) is an emerging, rapidly spreading RNA virus that infects tomatoes and peppers, with tomatoes being the primary host. This virus causes severe crop losses and poses a significant threat to tomato production worldwide. ToBRFV was first discovered in greenhouse-grown tomato plants in Jordan in the spring of 2015, with the initial outbreak traced back to 2014 in Israel. To date, the presence of the virus has been reported in at least 35 countries across four continents.
The PhytoDETECT® ToBRFV RT-qPCR Kit enables detection of the virus through one-step real- time RT-PCR. The kit includes a master mix containing the necessary enzymes, optimized primers and probes, and a positive contro (PC) based on DNA, to demonstrate that PCR amplification is efficiently carried out with the supplied components.
