Tris-Borate-EDTA (TBE) Buffer Powder is a high-quality buffer to be used in agarose or acrylamide gels. It is supplied as a premix powder. TBE buffer has higher buffer capacity than TAE buffer and has a higher resolution for DNA fragments <1500 bp. However, TBE gels in general afford a poor recovery of nucleic acids compared with TAE gels.
Each of our powdered buffer is rigorously quality-controlled to provide consistent solutions, eliminating the need for weighing or pH adjustments. To use, just pour the contents of one pouch into a beaker, add the necessary solvent, and stir until fully dissolved.
Contents of one pouch, when dissolved in 1L of ultrapure water, will yield a 1x solution containing 89 mM Tris-Borate, 2mM EDTA.
